The past two weeks have been wonderfully packed with dinners for Thanksgiving and two birthdays, more intense than usual housecleaning because there was a 50/50 chance we were doing Thanksgiving with the in-laws at our house, and crafting for both Christmas gifts and my craft show next Saturday. I have baked two delicious Butterfinger cakes and cooked my first turkey! Looking back I am proud of us.
I have been knitting a pair of Christmas stockings for my cousin and his wife; I knitted their daughters’ stockings last year. I have chosen to knit the leg with name and a bigger motif while the foot has a smaller motif. I figure taller leg means bigger gift can fit 🙂 I am knitting their stockings in green and white to contrast and compliment the kids’ stockings in red and white. It is not white white: it is called Natural but looks white beside color.
The yarn is Whimzee Stitches in Christmas Red, Evergreen and Natural on a worsted base, and the pattern is Personalized Christmas Stocking by Mare Allison. The pattern is free to download from Ravelry; I think the multiple charted motifs in the pattern are very helpful.
Well I need to get back to the knitted – their time of usefulness is fast approaching!
