My gut reaction when I read the article History’s 15 most notorious gold diggers by Agustina Uranga on the internet over my lunch break.
Gabriel Aubry – Maybe. He was a handsome male model and Halle Berry was a beautiful and successful actress.
Antony Armstrong-Jones – I think he had the social credentials and proper attitude to marry Princess Margaret; they were each looking for a good time and made each other happier.
Raffaello Follieri – This man is a straight-up criminal and should never have been anywhere near a treasure like Anne Hathaway!
Guy Ritchie – Yes, probably. Money and fame have their appeal. However, they as a couple did not mesh their lives together well and it crumbled faster than I would have thought.
Russell Brand – Maybe, but in my mind, they were each as famous as the other. Their hippy-dippiness and cuddling carried them only so far.
Kevin Federline – Yes. From the moment I saw him, I thought ‘Run, Britney, run!’
Rick Salomon – No, I think that he and Pamela Anderson had an on-again and off-again type relationship. They may have thought marrying each other would settle the issues in their relationship.
Yoko Ono – Not really. At one time, I would have said that she was a golddigger. However, the more I learn about John Lennon as a person and his attitudes toward others, I have begun to think that Lennon used her presence as a means to extract himself from The Beatles.
Elin Nordegren – No. Tiger Woods was a successful man who could have dated and married anyone. His girlfriends post divorce prove he has a type and Elin was the prototype.
Oksana Grigorieva – Yes. She saw a successful, older man, and thought Mel Gibson would be fun to date and would shower her with gifts and trips. I think she got more trouble than she was expecting.
Amy Irving – No. She lucked into marrying Steven Spielberg before he was huge.
David Furnish – Not really. I think he wanted a lavender marriage for career reasons and Liza was looking for a companion and possible helpmate in her later years.
Amber Heard – Yes. I was suspicious of her from the moment I read they were dating. She was allegedly a lesbian before she met and married Johnny Depp; he had a twenty year relationship that produced two children without marrying.
Heather Mills – Yes.
Courtney Love – Not really. I think she and Kurt Cobain were both depressive, drug addicts who played music that found each other.
