I found recipes for emotional cleansing and gave the shower one a try. It is a keeper for both it’s ease and coziness. I lit vanilla candles and had soothing (country goth) music playing on my phone. Rest of house – a shambles, my shower – beautiful.
SHOWER VERSION (Steam Infusion)
What you’ll need:
¼ cup finely ground oats (colloidal if possible)
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp honey (optional for extra skin softness)
Muslin bag, cheesecloth, or a clean sock
How to do it:
Mix oats and nutmeg in a small bowl. Add honey if using.
Spoon the mixture into the muslin bag or cloth and tie it shut.
Hang or tie the bag where warm water will hit it (not directly under a hard stream, or it’ll burst).
Let the steam fill your shower — it’ll create a warm, nutty, sweet aroma.
After a few minutes, you can use the bag itself like a gentle exfoliating sponge to rub over your skin — the oats will release a silky, milky liquid that softens and soothes.
I look forward to using this foot soak on snowy days when my toes need extra warmth. I imagine pairing the soak with fuzzy socks and a cup of Earl Grey.
FOOT SOAK VERSION
Perfect for grounding and relaxation after a long day.

Add everything to the basin and stir well.
Soak your feet for 15–20 minutes.
Massage your feet and ankles with the oat bag — it’s soothing and moisturizing.
